Startups are catching up to ChatGPT
What: While ChatGPT has been making headlines, other startups that are steadily closing the gap with GPT-4. Anthropic, a startup with $1.5 billion in funding, released an improved version of its flagship Claude AI model yesterday.
Take a quick look at the model:
Smarter: Significant improvements in coding, math and reasoning, and even scoring 76.5% on the bar exam's multiple-choice section!
Better reasoning: scored above the 90th percentile on the GRE reading and writing exams, similar to the median applicant on quantitative reasoning.
Can handle large inputs: ChatGPT is limited to 32K tokens in each prompt, but Claude can now process up to 100K tokens! This means you its capable of analyzing hundreds of pages of technical documentation or even a book in one go.
Improved Coding Skills: Claude 2 scored 71.2% on the Codex HumanEval, a Python coding test, which is a significant improvement from Claude 1.3's 56.0%..
Bigger Picture: One of the most overlooked aspect is safety in AI models, but Claude 2 is 2x better at providing harmless responses than earlier versions. Anthropic has been quietly scooping up enterprise customers with its focus on privacy and safety.
