Main Thing ☕️

SpaceX unveils next-gen StarLink Satellites

SpaceX completed 100th consecutive successful launch & landing

What: SpaceX launched "V2 Mini", the new generation of StarLink satellites. Starlink provides high-speed, low-latency broadband internet across the globe with speeds averaging 90Mbps!

The new satellites have:

  • 4x the network capacity of earlier iterations, using powerful phased array antennas and E-band.

  • "Argon Hall thrusters" for maneuvering in orbit.

Zoom Out: SpaceX has build a massive satellite constellation in orbit consisting of 3,120 operation satellites! Additionally, FCC granted a key authorization to launch another 7500 satellites in Dec 2022.

This could translate to end of cellular dead zones. Satellite internet is soon coming to your phone, iPhone 14 already includes antennas powerful enough to communicate with satellites and it's only about to get better.

🤑 SpaceX is the most valuable private US company at $137 billion! If the upcoming Starship launch is successful, it’s headed straight to the trillion-dollar club.

Tech Roundup

Snapchat: Tired of Meta and Microsoft stealing the show, Snapchat is finally jumping aboard the AI bandwagon. Meet "My AI", a chatbot that helps you recommend birthday gifts for your BFF and suggest recipes for dinner. The chatbot is available with $3.99/mo Snapchat+ subscription.

FTC: Suddenly every product is AI powered, including "shoes"! FTC issued a warning for companies to "Keep AI claims in check". What's surprising is a gov't agency agile enough to stay on top of technology trends! 👏🏻
