Major boost to Open Source AI

Meta released a newer version of Llama, a large language model for text, with full license for research and commercial use!

Key details:

• Open source: Llama 2 is now fully open source, so you could integrate in your applications for commercial use for free.

• Performance: The AI model outperforms all open source model and is roughly on par with OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 which powers the regular version of ChatGPT.

• Availability: The model comes in 3 sizes based on number of parameters - 7B, 13B and 70B. All of them are available of download or you could use them with cloud providers like Microsoft and Amazon.

Bigger Picture: Over 1 million human annotations were used to improve the chat experience, with 40% more training data and 2x context length than previous versions.

Meta has been churning out state-of-the-art AI model and open sourcing them for free! The new model has performance comparable to ChatGPT (GPT3.5), and you could download the model to fine-tune as per your use-case, making it more useful that OpenAI’s paid AI models!
