Meta’s new AI turns Text into Music!

What: Meta released a new AI model, MusicGen, to create music from simple text prompts!

Under the hood, MusicGen is a single Language Model that can generate high-quality samples, while being conditioned on text or melodic features allowing better controls over the generated output.

It’s trained on 20,000 hours of licensed music and is available in three sizes, 300M, 1.5B and 3.3B parameters

Why it matters: Meta has been pushing hard on releasing open-source models for public to download and use, with full commercial license in some cases.
