BIG TECH
Meta’s CM3leon AI model
Meta is back with yet another AI model, CM3leon (pronounced chameleon), capable of both text-to-image and image-to-text generation!
Until now, you could either generate an image using text prompt or create text using image.
This is the first AI model that can handle a wide range of tasks and appears to have an “understanding” of images. It can create text-to-image, image-to-text and even edit images-from-text.
Bigger Picture: A multi-modal AI like CM3leon simplifies business and engineering tasks on many levels. Instead of having to manage an AI model for each task, you simplify your workflow with only one model.
CM3leon is not available for commercial use, but Meta has been leveling the playing field by open-sourcing state-of-the-art models.
As we head into second half of 2023, Google’s leaked internal document on why they have no moat is being clearer.
