Meta’s AI to help you write code

Meta unveiled a new AI model, Code Llama, to help you generate and discuss code using simple text prompts!

Code Llama:

  • Generates and Debugs Code: Code Llama creates code strings from prompts and fixes existing ones

  • Versatile Compatibility: The model is available in different versions like Code Llama-Python and Code Llama-Instruct, tailored to specific tasks.

  • Vast Input Acceptance: Capable of accommodating around 100,000 tokens of input code, aka it has higher working memory.

  • Powerful Performance: The 7 billion parameter model can fit on a single consumer GPU!

Code Llama is the #1 AI model for coding, outperforming all publicly available AI models. Plus, it is fully open-source, meaning you could use it for personal and commercial use without any special license.

But on the flip side, there might be issues with security of the generated code and copyrights when using the output of this model.
