Three Things to Start Your Day

ChatGPT can now See, Hear, and Speak

ChatGPT can now understand images and audio

ChatGPT is getting a major upgrade with new image and voice capabilities, allowing it to have more natural conversations.

ChatGPT can now -

  • Have Voice Conversation - Speak with ChatGPT and have it talk back in a more natural and human-like sound.

  • Use Images as input - Show ChatGPT one or more images to ask questions about it. For instance, upload an image of your fridge to plan a meal, or an image of a complex graph to get insights.

ChatGPT plus and enterprise customers will be able to access the new features over the next couple of weeks. Zooming out, ChatGPT can now replace Alexa/Siri/Google Home, Google Image Search and dozens of startups that focused on image based analysis.

Amazon invests $4 billion into Anthropic AI

Microsoft has been able to come out ahead in the AI race partly due to the strategic investment of $10 billion in OpenAI. Now, Amazon is hoping to repeat that with investment in OpenAI’s rival Anthropic.

As part of the $4 billion investment, AWS will provide compute resources to Anthropic, becoming its primary cloud provider.

The partnership also tackles one of the biggest hurdles in the adoption of Generative AI in enterprises: Compliance and data privacy. Anthropic’s AI model, Claudie, will now be available on Amazon Bedrock to help enterprises quickly build AI applications using the familiar AWS-tech while being compliant on various data handling laws.

Spotify to clone podcasters voices for translation

Spotify will let podcasters clone their voices to automatically create foreign-language versions of their shows.

Instead of regular translation, podcasters will be able to keep their own unique voices in another language for more authentic experiences.

The feature currently supports English-to-Spanish translation, with plans to roll out French and German in the coming months.
