ChatGPT is now available via APIs!

What: OpenAI released new APIs to allow developers to integrate ChatGPT and Whisper (speech-to-text) AI models into their apps and products.

Why it matters:

• Cheaper: 10x cheaper that previous AI models! The APIs cost mere $0.002 per 1k tokens, which is equivalent to ~750 words!

• Better and Faster: ChatGPT is powered by GPT-3.5-turbo AI model, that blows previous generations out of the water in terms of quality and speed.

• Easier: The APIs are super simple to integrate for everyone, from Snapchat, Shopify to indie-hackers working on side projects!

• Privacy-focused: OpenAI will not use your data for training and auto-delete within 30 days!

Behind the lines: OpenAI made a very strategic move to dominate the market. ChatGPT is simply the best AI model by a significant margin, the APIs are very developer friendly and 10x cheaper.

The first mover-advantage is real and OpenAI is coming to eat Google’s lunch!

Salesforce: The stock is up 11% today, after the company beat all expectations in its quarterly earnings report. The EPS was $1.68 vs $1.36 expected and revenue grew by 14%.

Interestingly, Salesforce will lay off 10% of its staff (~7,000 employees), but will buyback $20 Billion in stocks!

T-mobile: Hackers claim they breached T-mobile more than 100 times in 2022! Hackers phished T-mobile employees for access to internal company tools to divert any T-mobile user's text messages and phone calls to another device!

Ford: If you think self-driving cars are cool, think again. If you miss a payment on your Ford vehicle, the car could drive away itself for repossession (or to junkyard) according to a new patent. So, either stay on top of the payments or don't get the self-driving version!
