Celebrities are monetizing Digital Clones

Celebrities are capitalizing on AI boom to create “Digital Clones” of themselves for marketing campaigns.

With advancements in deep-fake tech, it's getting tough to spot the difference between the real stars and their AI-generated lookalikes. This is not just cool; it's opening up a whole new world for celebrities to cash in on their digital doubles.

Startups like Metaphysic can create a digital clone in just couple of minutes using a 3D scanner, allows celebrities to star in ads or marketing campaigns without the need for their physical presence at shoots.

With digital clones, celebrities gain greater control over their image portrayal and brands could leverage them in innovative ways that’s not feasible with real advertising.

OpenAI’s AI regulation might be PR stunt

OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, had a busy summer advocating new AI regulations globally, including visits to 17 European nations and testifying before the US Congress.

However, as reported first by Time, behind the scenes, OpenAI engaged in lobbying efforts to significantly alter the impending EU's AI Act in a way that could lessen its influence.

The forthcoming regulations, aimed at mitigating the risks associated with generative AI, held the potential for substantial repercussions on OpenAI's operations. However, the measures were ultimately diluted following the company's lobbying.
