Could Apple make VR great again?

Apple unveiled Vision Pro, the new mixed-reality headset that combines both Augmented and Virtual Reality in one device.

The $3500 “Spatial Computer” will be available next year and could become the next computing platform in the coming years.

Every electronic device you interact with is 2D - from your phone to your computer, TV, monitor, basically anything with a display. Vision Pro introduces a new paradigm where you interact in 3D.

Cool bits -

• Entertainment: Vision Pro comes with two 4K screens and spatial audio which together provides you an immersive 3D viewing experience, anywhere.

• Work: Vision Pro extends your Macbook into any number of virtual screens! Instead of mouse and keyboard, just navigate with your eyes and hand gestures.

• Communications: Life-size facetime calls, record and watch 3D memories of your events.

But where’s the AI? Apple mentioned “AI” exactly 0 times during the entire presentation, instead opting for words like Machine learning and Machine intelligence.

Under the hood, tons of the features and experiences are powered by AI. For instance, the new iOS 17 would transcribe voice messages into text, or Keyboard would predict and auto-complete your next words.
