Amazon joins the AI party

What: Amazon's AWS is eying the AI dev market with launch of new features for developing and hosting AI models.

1. BedRock: New API service to access foundation AI models, including popular AI models from AI21, Anthropic, and Stability AI.
   

2. ML Infrastructure: AWS now offers specialized EC2 instances for training and inference in AI models, that can save over 50% in costs compared to the regular EC2 instances.
   

3. CodeWhisperer: Amazon's AI-powered coding companion tool is now publicly available, and can also generate code for AWS services.

Between the lines: The new Bedrock service is making it super easy to customize a model. For instance, you only need 20 labelled examples to fine-tune your model for a particular task!

Plus, the service is enterprise ready with best practices for data privacy and security.

Stability AI unveils new XL model

The popular open source AI tool for generating images from text, Stable Diffusion, got an upgrade with new XL model.

The new AI model is a significant advancement with new features like image-to-image prompting, capability to produce legible text, and can generate human hands correctly!
