AI goes mainstream in Politics

AI-generated Ad

What: GOP released an AI-generated ad in response to Joe Biden’s reelection bid!

The ad is a prime example of how quickly AI can generate convincing imagery to influence large audiences! Watch the Ad here.

In the 30 second ad, AI generated the audio of news announcer and the images of Biden and VP Harris, China invading Taiwan, Crime skyrocketing in SF and 80,000 illegals overwhelming the border!

Why it matters: Hyper personalized targeted ads are becoming a reality.

Earlier this week Google announcedAI-powered Ads”, allowing advertisers to create text, images and videos for ad campaigns.

AI-powered Ads can generate custom visuals tailored specifically to a user. This is a slippery slope towards exploiting user’s emotions in order to persuade a user to make a purchase or amplify their echo-chambers.

On the political spectrum, you could see ads created only for you with AI-generated visuals on topics that matter to you, to influence your decision.

Automate Data Analysis with ResearchGPT

ResearchGPT automatically writes analytical code for your data and generates insights to significantly speed up data analysis!

For instance, imagine you're working with raw data from the US Census and want to explore complex questions like "Does gender affect income?"

ResearchGPT provides you with the answer and the python code generated by the AI to reach that conclusion, to help you understand the underlying process better.

Also, this tool is completely open-source and prioritizes user privacy by sharing only metadata, instead of raw data, with LLMs—making it an efficient, and privacy-conscious solution for data analysis.

US Gov begins testing ChatGPT

ChatGPT is now helping Congress to summarize huge bills! Last month, the Congressional offices received 40 licenses of ChatGPT plus to ‘experiment’ with the new AI chatbot.

According to the House Digital Services, ChatGPT might be used to generate constituent response drafts, press documents, summarize text in speeches and drafting policy papers or bills!

Gov getting ahead of the curve to test emerging tech is great, but considering we have no real way to audit ChatGPT’s correctness or security, it is worrisome to be used on real bills.
